Properties:
It acts as an adjuvant against free radicals, helping to activate the immune system. Selenium is an essential microelement in many chemical reactions in the body, being incorporated into more than 20 proteins. It is ranked among the most important nutrients in the fight against cancer. Selenium deficiency has been associated with fatigue, growth disorders, high cholesterol, infections, pancreatic insufficiency, infertility and cardiovascular disease.
Adjuvant effects:
- helps to protect cell membranes, to inhibit fat oxidation and is an important component of the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which captures hydrogen peroxide (dangerous substance);
- helps to produce antibodies;
- supports cardiac muscle activity;
- helps reduce blood viscosity, the formation of clots and increases the ratio of HDL (good) cholesterol to that of LDL (bad) cholesterol;
