Paracetamol Polisano 500 mg, 20 tablets, Polisano

Paracetamol Polisano 500 mg tablets is a drug that is part of the pharmacotherapeutic group: analgesics and antipyretics, anilides.

Description:

• Paracetamol has well-known analgesic and antipyretic properties, by inhibiting cyclooxygenase. It is considered that the analgesic and antipyretic action of paracetamol is determined, at least in part, by the inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis in the central nervous system.
• The analgesic and antipyretic effect is maximal at 1-3 hours and lasts 3-4 hours after administration.

Each tablet contains paracetamol 500 mg

Therapeutic indications:

Paracetamol Polisano has analgesic and antipyretic effects and is indicated in the symptomatic treatment of mild and moderate pain with different locations and etiologies, such as:

• headache (including migraine and tension headache)
• dysmenorrhea
• neuralgia
• sore throat
• post-vaccination pain and fever
• osteo-muscular pains/rheumatic pains
• dental pain, including those after extractions or surgical procedures
• dorso-lumbar pain
• osteoarthritis pain
• aches and pains associated with colds and flu
• menstrual pain
• symptomatic treatment of fever, including that associated with colds and flu.

Paracetamol Polisano is indicated for adults (including the elderly), adolescents and children aged between 6-15 years.

Administration method:

Adults (including the elderly), adolescents and children over 15 years of age: The recommended dose is 500-1000 mg paracetamol (1-2 Paracetamol Polisano tablets) every 4-6 hours, as needed.

• Do not administer at intervals of less than 4 hours.
• In general, the dose of 3 g of paracetamol (6 Paracetamol Polisano tablets) per day should not be exceeded.
• The maximum daily dose is 8 Paracetamol Polisano tablets (4000 mg paracetamol) within 24 hours.
• Paracetamol Polisano is for oral use only.
• The tablet is administered with a sufficient amount of liquid (approximately 200 ml in an adult, if possible).
• Regular administration avoids fluctuations in the intensity of pain or fever.

Children aged between 12 and 15 years: The recommended dose is 500 mg paracetamol (1 Paracetamol Polisano tablet) once;

• do not exceed 3-4 tablets within 24 hours.

Children aged between 6-12 years: The recommended dose is 60 mg paracetamol/kg, divided into several doses of 10-15 mg/kg per dose.

• In children, there must be a regular interval between administrations, both day and night, preferably 6 hours, but not less than 4 hours.
• Do not exceed the dose of 4 tablets within 24 hours.
• Paracetamol Polisano should not be administered to children for a period longer than 3 days, without a doctor's recommendation.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Children under 6 years of age: This medicine is not indicated in children under 6 years of age.

It is recommended to take paracetamol in age-appropriate pharmaceutical forms and concentrations.

Mechanism of action:

The analgesic action is based on the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis at the level of the central nervous system and to a lesser extent at the peripheral level. Another effect consists in decreasing the effects of endogenous pyrogens on the thermoregulation center at the level of the hypothalamus, in the sense of correlation with the antipyretic effect.

Special warnings and precautions for use:

• To avoid the risk of an overdose, it is recommended not to associate with other preparations containing paracetamol.
• Existing liver conditions increase the risk of liver damage due to paracetamol.
• Caution is recommended when administering paracetamol to patients with severe liver disease
• It is recommended to avoid the consumption of alcoholic beverages during treatment.
• Precautions are required in case of severe renal insufficiency

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the excipients.
• Hepatocellular insufficiency.
• Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
• Children under 6 years of age, due to the pharmaceutical form
