Description
Lopedium, 2 mg, 10 capsules, Sandoz
Indications:
Acute and chronic diarrhea.
Composition:
Loperamide Cps. 2 mg;
Mode of administration:
Acute diarrhea:
Adults and children over 12 years : initially 4 mg, then 2 mg after each diarrheal stool, maximum 16 mg/day.
Children 6-8 years - initially 2 mg after the first diarrheal stool and then 1 mg after each diarrheal stool, maximum 4 mg/day.
Children 9-11 years i - initially 2 mg after the first diarrheal stool and then 1 mg after each diarrheal stool, maximum 6 mg/day.
Chronic diarrhea:
Adults: 2 mg 1-3 times/day.
Children over 8 years: 1 mg 1-2 times/day.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to loperamide; exacerbations of ulcero-hemorrhagic rectocolitis.
Warnings:
Rehydration is required; it should not be used as first-line treatment in acute dysentery with bloody stools and fever or in pseudomembranous colitis; caution in IH; pregnancy and breastfeeding; drivers and precision activities.
Adverse reactions:
Constipation, hypersensitivity reactions, abdominal pain, bloating, vomiting, fatigue, drowsiness, vertigo, dry mouth.
