Caffetin, 12 tablets, Alkaloid

Caffetin is the symptomatic treatment of low-moderate pain: headache, migraine, toothache, menstrual pain, post-operative and post-traumatic pain, myalgia and arthralgia.

Ingredients for one tablet:

Paracetamol 250 mg, propyphenazone 210 mg, caffeine 50 mg, codeine phosphate sesquihydrate 10 mg and excipients: magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, povidone, calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, glycerol behenate.

How to use:

• Adults: the usual dose is 1-2 Caffetin tablets as needed; if necessary, the administration can be repeated, not exceeding 3 intakes per day (maximum 6 Caffetin tablets)
• Adolescents aged between 12 and 18 years: the usual dose is 1 Caffetin tablet as needed; if necessary, the administration can be repeated, not exceeding 3 intakes per day (maximum 3 Caffetin tablets).

Precautions:

• Before taking Caffetin, talk to your doctor or pharmacist or nurse
• Isolated cases of asthma attacks and anaphylactic shock have been reported in predisposed patients, in case of administration of medicines containing propyphenazone and paracetamol
• Caution is recommended in the case of patients with bronchial asthma, rhinitis and urticaria, especially in those with hypersensitivity to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

In the following cases, it is necessary to decrease the doses of Caffetin and/or extend the interval between administrations:

• impairment of liver function
• mild-moderate impairment of renal function
• Gilbert syndrome
• disorders of hematopoiesis.

In patients with intracranial hypertension, codeine can increase this effect.

The patient should be informed that painkillers should not be used regularly for a long period of time, except in cases where the doctor recommends it.
