Prenatal ^® Duo for pregnant and lactating women - properties of active ingredients

Prenatal ^® Duo capsules contain FolActiv ^® ingredients, i.e. folic acid derived from two chemical forms - pteroylmonoglutamic acid and calcium L-methylfolate, which is the active form of folic acid (methylated folic acid). Folate plays an important role during pregnancy as it contributes to the growth of maternal tissues. In addition, they also help in the correct synthesis of amino acids, while playing a role in the proper production of blood . Choline is an ingredient that supports the proper functioning of the liver .

MethylB12 is a form of vitamin B12 that plays a role in the process of cell division. The metabolism of vitamin B12 and folic acid is interconnected. Choline together with the folic acid present in ^FolActiv® and MethylB12 and vitamin B6 support the maintenance of proper homocysteine ​​metabolism. Iodine and selenium help the thyroid gland to function properly . Vitamin D helps maintain healthy bones and teeth and supports the proper functioning of the immune system . The combination of iron with folic acid and vitamins B6 and B12 actively supports the correct process of blood formation. At the same time, iron helps in the proper production of red blood cells and hemoglobin.

Prenatal ^® Duo soft gelatin capsules contain a high content of fish oil, which is a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids, including docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid. Maternal intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contributes to the normal development of the brain and eyes of the fetus and the breastfed infant . The beneficial effect occurs when 200 mg of DHA per day is consumed above the recommended daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids for adults, i.e. 250 mg of DHA and EPA. In addition, vitamin E helps protect cells against oxidative stress.
