Properties:

• Their intake is essential in maintaining the body's general well-being, during the growth period in children and adolescents, as well as for supporting the body's ability to exert effort and recovery during periods of convalescence.
• The bone system primarily needs calcium and vitamin D3, but for the use of calcium, magnesium is indispensable, because the two minerals are in a permanent balance.
• The functioning of the muscular and nervous systems is in turn dependent on the balance between calcium and magnesium.

Indications:

Ostart Complex Ca + Mg + Zn + Se + D3 film-coated tablets are recommended in:

2. Situations in which there are losses of minerals:

• fluid and electrolyte losses (ex: heatwave periods)

Mode of administration:

• Children 5-12 years: 1 tablet per day
• It is recommended to break the tablet on the middle line so that it can be swallowed more easily by children or people with swallowing difficulties. Children over 12 years and adults: 1 tablet 2 times a day

Precautions:

• In the case of concomitant administration, calcium can reduce the absorption of some drugs such as preparations based on fluorine, iron and phosphates, levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, antibiotics such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin).
• These drugs are taken at least four hours before or after taking calcium-containing products.
• In high doses, calcium can increase the effect of digoxin and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias and can reduce the effectiveness of calcium blockers (such as verapamil), which is why in the case of people under treatment with these drugs, the administration of calcium preparations is done with caution, with monitoring of serum calcium concentrations.
