Chestnut oil may have anti-swelling, anti-inflammatory and mild astringent properties. The main active substance is escin, which seals, strengthens and restores the elasticity of blood vessels. It also has antioxidant properties. The oil is an excellent care agent for people with sensitive vascular skin prone to swelling, for example, under the eyes and oily skin prone to impurities. Chestnut oil contains substances that have a strengthening effect on the vein walls and increase their elasticity. This improves blood flow, thus preventing its accumulation in the veins, which is the main cause of varicose veins.
