Description
Zovirax DUO
The dual composition of Zovirax DUO combines an antiviral and anti-inflammatory component. It stops the spread of the virus and shortens the healing time. It helps reduce the chances of cold sores turning into blisters.
The first symptoms
Start treatment as soon as possible, as soon as the first signs or symptoms of cold sores appear (eg tingling, redness or itching).
Stop the spread
Try not to touch the cold sore. If a blister appears, do not touch it more than necessary to avoid spreading the infection to another part of the body or to the eye. If you touch it, wash your hands after touching it. You can spread the virus with your fingers.
Don't jump and don't jump
Apply the cream five times a day for 5 days (ie approximately every 3-4 hours). The cream is applied in sufficient quantity to the entire affected area and its surroundings (with an overlap of approximately half a centimeter on the surrounding healthy skin).
Use
The cream is suitable for adults and adolescents from the age of 12. Do not use the medicine for more than 5 days. If you do not feel better after 5 days of finishing treatment or if you feel worse, you should consult a doctor.
Itching phase
In the first phase, you will notice the appearance of the first symptoms. The itching usually lasts for a few hours, and the affected area may become red and swollen. TIP: It is recommended to start treatment at this stage.
Vesicle phase
At this stage, you may notice a blister starting to form. At first, you will see small painful pimples that can multiply and become larger. The liquid in them contains millions of virus particles. TIP: If a blister appears, do not touch it more than necessary to avoid spreading the infection to another part of the body or to the eye.
Crust phase
This stage occurs when the cold sore dries up and forms a crust. Cold sores heal underneath, but as the scab shrinks, it can develop small cracks that tend to bleed. TIP: Let the crust fall off on its own, peeling it off may leave a scar.
The healing phase
As the scab begins to fall off, the skin underneath remains dry, so we may see residual swelling and pink skin.
