Properties:
The chemical composition of peppermint essential oils depends on the geographical region, most of them having insecticidal (repellent) and antimicrobial action - against pathogens.
Researchers reports on the chemical analysis of essential oils from Mentha species revealed that most of the oils are rich in menthone, menthol, carvone, 1, 8-cineole, limonene and β-caryophyllene.
Mint is composed of approximately 25-30 species of plants from the Lamiaceae family, found on all continents. There are also a number of hybrids - Menta piperita is considered the most valuable hybrid, obtained from Mentha spicata and Mentha aquatica, having a wide spectrum of use.
