In pulmonary affections with viscous, adherent bronchial secretion, which cannot be easily removed.

In the symptomatic treatment of dry and wet, pulmonary and extrapulmonary cough.

Composition and role of components:

One tablet contains codeine phosphate hemihydrate 7.5 mg, potassium guaiacol sulfonate 120 mg and excipients

Tusocalm tablets by the codeine phosphate content is an antitussive, and by the potassium guaiacol sulphonate it is an expectorant.

Contraindications:

Hypersensitivity to the active substances or to any of the excipients, children under 3 years of age, severe renal, hepatic or cardiac insufficiency, respiratory insufficiency.

Precautions:

• Caution is recommended in patients with bronchial asthma and pulmonary emphysema in whom Tusocalm tablets may accentuate the phenomena of respiratory failure
• The central depressant effect of codeine is potentiated by phenothiazines, tricyclic antidepressants, MAOIs, antihistamines, tranquilizers, sedatives, hypnotics, alcohol
• Codeine potentiates analgesics (the combination with acetylsalicylic acid or other analgesics and antipyretics is recommended), leading to an increase in the analgesic effect
• The effects of codeine are reduced by kaolin (absorption decreases)
• Caution in young children, high doses of codeine (0.3 g/kg body weight) may cause convulsions.

• Do not administer to women who are breastfeeding. Codeine is excreted in breast milk and crosses the placental barrier
• Although there are no definite data on the existence of harmful effects on pregnancy due to the administration of codeine, caution is recommended for pregnant women, especially in the first months of pregnancy
• Tusocalm reduces the ability to drive or use machines.

Dosage and method of administration:

Tusocalm is administered orally, 1 tablet 3-4 times a day.

Storage:

• Keep out of the reach and sight of children
• Store at temperatures below 25 degrees C, in the original packaging
• Do not use the product after the expiry date written on the box
• The expiry date refers to the last day of the respective month
• This medicine does not require any special storage conditions
• Medicines must not be disposed of through household water or household waste
• Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer need. These measures will help to protect the environment.
