Extracted from olive oil, noted for its excellent affinity to skin and hair, it is a multipurpose, non-greasy cosmetic active that strengthens the skin's protective barrier. It is ideal for serums, creams, foundation, makeup and hair care compositions.

It is a pure vegetable derivative obtained from olives, oxidatively stable and has a structure similar to epidermal cells. Squalane is found naturally in the skin, among the main components of the hydrolipidic film.

Squalane potentiates the skin's natural ability to regenerate, nourishes and hydrates the skin tissue. Beneficial effects on the skin include a decrease in drying tendencies, reduction of the wrinkle formation process, reduction of the risk of skin flaking.
It is a multipurpose cosmetic active, very pleasant on the skin due to its non-greasy constitution, it is easily absorbed and gives suppleness to the skin. It is also noted for the fact that it increases the permeability of the skin, thus becoming a useful ingredient in the transport of active principles.

Clear oily liquid, colorless, weak odor almost odorless.

*Comedogenicity is not scientifically measurable and determined. An oil/butter considered comedogenic can temporarily clog pores but does not necessarily generate pimples, blackheads or acne in any person. The application, especially in its pure state, of an oil considered comedogenic should be avoided by people with acne-prone skin, but it can be used as an ingredient in an emulsion or combined with other ingredients.

- as an ingredient it is useful in a wide variety of cosmetic preparations for skin, body and hair;
- in emulsions, it is added to the oily phase, being resistant to heating;
- as an ingredient in body creams and balms where the skin needs protection and regeneration;
- as an active ingredient for facial serums and eye care serums;
- for the preparation of make-up and lip care compositions;
- for massage oils with a drier texture;
- as an ingredient in conditioners and hair creams.

Combinations:
- with argan oil and rosa mosqueta oil for an anti-aging serum;
- with borage oil, macerated rose oil and geranium essential oil for facial massage;
- with vitamin A, coenzyme Q10 and evening primrose oil for a strong regenerating night serum;
- with vanilla oil and an essential oil suitable for a body massage;
- with Monoi de Tahiti oil for a hair mask;
- with broccoli oil and ylang-ylang essential oil for a hair serum;
- with vegetable silicone in foundation and "oil-free" creams.
