Robitussin Expectorant Syrup, 100 ml, Pfizer
Indications:
Robitussin Expectorans contains the active substance guaifenesin. Robitussin Expectorans is an expectorant that helps release sputum (mucus) and liquefies bronchial secretions to make coughing more productive and relieves symptoms of pulmonary congestion in adults and children over 2 years of age.
If after 5 days (3 days in children) you do not feel better or feel worse, you should see a doctor.
Robitussin Expectorans is indicated in productive cough, liquefies sputum. Reduces cough caused by colds, bronchitis and other lung infections.
Composition/100g syrup:
- The active substance is guaifenesin. 5 ml of oral solution contain 100 mg of guaifenesin.
- glycerol, carmellose sodium, sodium benzoate, liquid maltitol (E965), ethanol 96% v/v, anhydrous citric acid, caramel, levomenthol, natural cherry flavor, liquid sorbitol (70%) (E420), sodium cyclamate, acesulfame potassium, purified water.
Mode of administration:
The recommended dose is:
- for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age: 10-20 ml every 4 hours
- in children aged between 6 and 12 years: 5-10 ml every 4 hours
- in children aged between 2 and 6 years: 2.5-5 ml every 4 hours.
Ask your doctor before using the medicine in this age group.
For oral administration.
Robitussin Expectorans is not given to children under 2 years of age.
Contraindications:
Do not take Robitussin Expectorants:
- if you are allergic to guaifenesin or any of the other components of this medicine.
- Do not administer to children under 2 years of age.
Precautions:
Before taking Robitussin Expectorans, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if:
- you suffer from a chronic cough as a result of smoking or lung dysfunctions such as asthma or emphysema.
Stop treatment with Robitussin Expectorans and contact your doctor if your cough lasts more than 5 days (3 days in children), recurs or is accompanied by fever, allergies or persistent pain
head. These could be signs of serious conditions.
- Combining an antitussive with an expectorant (mucolytic or secretory stimulant) is not recommended.
- If the cough does not improve with treatment, the dose of the medicine will not be increased, but a clinical re-evaluation will be done.
- In case of signs of superinfection or chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, contact the doctor.
- Athletes should be warned that the use of this drug can give a positive reaction to anti-doping tests.
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.

If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines:
People who drive vehicles or operate machinery must be aware that this product contains ethyl alcohol.
