Reuprofen 400 mg, 10 tablets, Helcor

Reuprofen is indicated for:

• Symptomatic treatment of painful conditions: headache, migraine (treatment and prophylaxis), toothache, dysmenorrhea, osteoarticular and muscle pain (including tendinitis, bursitis, dislocations, sprains)
• Symptomatic treatment of fever.

Composition:

• Reuprofen 400 mg
• One film-coated tablet contains ibuprofen 400 mg, excipients q.s.

How to use:

• Adults and children over 15 years: 200-400 mg ibuprofen, repeated as needed at intervals of 6-8 hours, without exceeding 1200 mg ibuprofen
• Filmed tablets are swallowed whole, with a little water, preferably at meals
• For children under 15 years of age, the use of appropriate pharmaceutical forms is recommended.

Before using Reuprofen, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility:

Pregnancy:

Inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis can negatively affect pregnancy and/or embryo/fetus development. Data obtained from epidemiological studies raise a question mark regarding the increased risk of spontaneous abortion and cardiac malformations and gastroschisis after the use of a prostaglandin synthesis inhibitor during the first trimesters of pregnancy. The risk may increase depending on the administered dose and the duration of the therapy.

It is recommended that ibuprofen should not be administered during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy, unless absolutely necessary. If women who want to remain pregnant or who are in the first or second trimester of pregnancy use ibuprofen, the dose should be kept as low as possible and the duration of treatment should be as short as possible.

During the third trimester of pregnancy, all prostaglandin synthesis inhibitors may expose the fetus to:

• Cardiopulmonary toxicity (with premature closure of the ductus arteriosus and pulmonary hypertension)
• Renal dysfunction, which can progress to renal failure with oligohydroamniosis.

Mother and newborn, at the end of pregnancy, at:

• Possible prolongation of bleeding time, an anti-aggregation effect that can appear even after taking very small doses
• Inhibition of uterine contractions, which cause delay or prolongation of labor.

Consequently, ibuprofen is contraindicated during the third trimester of pregnancy.

Breastfeeding:

• Ibuprofen and its metabolites can pass in small concentrations into breast milk
• Until now, no harmful effects are known in newborns, so that, in the case of short-term treatment with the recommended dose for pain and fever, in general, it is not necessary to stop breastfeeding.

Driving vehicles and using machines:

• Because in the case of using Reuprofen in high doses, adverse reactions may occur in the central nervous system, such as fatigue and dizziness, the ability to react and the ability to actively participate in road traffic and use machinery may be affected, in isolated cases.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to ibuprofen, Ponceau 4R (E124) or any of the excipients
• Patients with a history of hypersensitivity reactions (eg, bronchospasm, asthma, rhinitis, angioedema or urticaria) associated with the administration of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
• Active or previous recurrent peptic ulcer or bleeding (two or more distinct, diagnosed episodes of ulcer or bleeding)
• History of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, determined by previous NSAID therapy
• Patients with severe liver failure, severe renal failure, coronary disease or severe heart failure
• Children with body weight below 20 kg
• Patients with cerebrovascular hemorrhage or other active hemorrhages
• Patients with blood cell formation disorders of unspecified etiology
• Patients with severe dehydration (caused by vomiting, diarrhea or insufficient fluid intake)
• Last trimester of pregnancy.
