Properties:
Ostart Plus Ca + K2 + D3 film-coated tablets is a complex product that is recommended in periods characterized by mineral losses such as bone loss in pre- and postmenopausal people or in the elderly as well as in case of excessive losses of fluids and electrolytes (for example during intense physical activity or during periods of heat) or when the body requires an increased intake of calcium, such as periods of growth in adolescents.

Composition:
Calcium carbonate, polyvinylpyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer, bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose), cross-linked sodium carboxymethylcellulose, menaquinone 7, anti-caking agent (stearic acid), cholecalciferol and film agent [polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, potassium aluminum silicate, talc, dye (titanium dioxide)].

1 film-coated tablet contains:
- Calcium 400 mg (50% RDA/NRV*)
- Vitamin K2 (MK-7) 45 µg (60% RDA/NRV*)
- Vitamin D3 15 µg (600 IU) (300% RDA/NRV*)

Indications:
Ostart Plus Ca + K2 + D3 film-coated tablets are recommended in:

1. Situations in which there are mineral losses:
- in the pre- and postmenopausal period and in the elderly
- loss of fluids and electrolytes (ex: periods of heat wave)

2. Situations in which the body requires an increased intake of calcium, vitamin K2 and vitamin D3
- growing children
- intense physical and mental activity
- in preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding

Administration method:

• Children over 12 years: 1 tablet per day
• It is recommended to break the tablet on the middle line so that it can be swallowed more easily by children or people with swallowing difficulties.
• Adults: 1 tablet 2 times a day

Recommendations:
In the case of concomitant administration, calcium can reduce the absorption of drugs such as preparations based on fluorine, iron and phosphates, levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, antibiotics such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin). These drugs are taken at least four hours before or after taking calcium-containing products.

In high doses, calcium can increase the effect of digoxin and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias and can reduce the effectiveness of calcium blockers (such as verapamil), which is why in the case of people under treatment with these drugs, the administration of calcium preparations is done with caution, with monitoring of serum calcium concentrations.
