Description
Nizoral ® is a drug in the form of a cream used for the local treatment of mycosis of the skin of the trunk, groin, hands and feet, as well as for candidiasis of the skin and pityriasis versicolor. Nizoral ® cream is also recommended for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis associated with the presence of the yeast Malassezia ovale ( Pityrosporum ovale ).
How does Nizoral ® cream with ketoconazole 20 mg/g work?
The active substance of the preparation is ketoconazole, which has a strong antifungal effect. Ketoconazole has a broad spectrum of activity, including dermatophytes of the genera Trichophyton , Epidermophyton , Microsporum , and yeasts of the genus Candida and Malassezia ( Pityrosporum ).
Nizoral 20 mg/g cream is a non-prescription medicine. It is intended for use on adult skin. The duration of treatment depends on the type of skin disease or infection and can last from 2 to 6 weeks.
