ALLERGY-Check ^® is a rapid and specific immunodiagnostic test for the detection of elevated levels of IgE antibodies in the blood . IgE antibodies are produced by the body in response to the presence of one or more allergens. A professional home test is used for the initial diagnosis of allergies and can also be used to help detect parasitic infections.

The LabHome ALLERGY-Check ^® test allows the detection of total IgE antibodies in the blood. Evaluation of total IgE concentration is a preliminary test in the diagnosis of allergies caused by most allergens, including inhaled, food and contact allergens. Contact with this type of substance "sensitizes" the patient via the IgE-dependent pathway, causing an increase in these antibodies. To carry out specialized blood tests (looking for a specific allergen that causes an allergy), you must first check whether the total amount of IgE antibodies is increased. Also, in some parasitic infections, the level of IgE antibodies increases significantly.

LabHome ALLERGY-Check ^® uses multiple antibodies that detect specific IgE immunoglobulins, creating a T-colored test line. Excess reagent creates a C-colored control line. If both lines appear, the test indicates that the level of IgE antibodies is higher than normal, i.e. according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO) >150 IU/mL.

The ALLERGY-Check ^® test should be performed in case of symptoms that may be related to allergies, such as rashes and redness on the skin, tearing, repeated sneezing in contact with plant pollen and after contact with animals, for example a dog or a cat or as a result of swelling after eating certain foods. Taking the test and reading the test result is quick and easy - it only takes 10 minutes. The reliability of the test is very high - it is 97%. The finding of an increased level of IgE compared to the normal level allows the diagnosis to be expanded in search of a specific allergen and allows the initiation of effective therapy.
