Teasel ( Dipsaci radix ) is a biennial plant from the teasel family. It is common in Poland and other areas of Europe, as well as in Western Asia and North Africa. It grows wild and is rarely cultivated, although it sometimes enriches home gardens as a decoration. It is a well-known and appreciated herbal raw material. In herbal medicine, the roots of teasals, which are dug up in early spring or autumn, and the leaves, which are harvested in the spring before the plant blooms, are used.
