Protects and treats wounds with an ointment base, thus preventing maceration. It does not stick to the base of the wound; the newly formed tissue is not traumatized.

Application: After disinfecting and washing the wound (eg with Ringer's solution), apply a sterile silver compress. Choose the size of the compress so that it extends beyond the wound by at least 2 cm. The Atrauman compress is taken out of the package and the covering paper on one side is removed. The compress is applied with the active part exposed on the wound and then the remaining covering paper (from the outside) is peeled off. A sterile, well-absorbing dressing should then be applied to collect secretions from the wound. It can be left on the wound for up to seven days (since the silver is gradually released over a seven-day period), unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor. If necessary, Atrauman can be changed with each dressing (in case of very draining wounds).
