Description
Food Detective™ is a ready-made collection kit that allows you to take a blood sample from your finger and then test for food intolerance for 59 products . The results of the tests can be the basis of the application of an appropriate diet.
What is food intolerance?
Food intolerance is a non-immune response to the consumption of a food or food ingredient in an amount that is usually tolerated by the general population. It results from mechanisms other than food allergy involving an immune response.
The cause of food intolerances can be the lack of certain enzymes that break down carbohydrates in the intestines (for example, lactase deficiency that breaks down lactose). The causes can also be pharmacological related to the action of certain substances, for example caffeine, histamine, tyramine, as well as non-specific intestinal and non-intestinal reactions to the consumption of certain foods, manifested, for example, by abdominal pain and gastrointestinal problems related to the consumption of certain food. Sometimes food intolerances occur for unexplained reasons.
When is it worth taking the Food Detective™ food intolerance test?
It is worth doing a food intolerance test if you notice disturbing symptoms in the digestive system after consuming certain groups of products. The most common symptoms of food intolerance include abdominal pain, diarrhea, flatulence, constipation, feeling full and excessive gas.
The Food Detective™ test examines possible intolerance to the following foods: egg (whole), milk (cow), grains: corn, durum wheat, gluten, rice, wheat, rye, oats, fruits: apple, black currant, grapefruit, cantaloupe and watermelon), olives, oranges and lemons, strawberries, vegetables: broccoli, cabbage, carrots, celery, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, leeks, peppers (red, green, yellow), nuts: almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts, walnuts, peanuts, cocoa, legumes: peas, lentils, beans, soybeans, meat: beef, chicken, lamb, pork, fish: freshwater fish (salmon, trout), tuna, white fish (haddock, cod, flounder ), crustaceans: shrimp, crab, lobster, mussels, others: yeast, mushrooms, garlic, ginger, tea.
The Food Detective™ test examines the body's reactions to 59 food products divided into 46 groups. Before the test is performed, a collection kit is provided, which contains all the necessary tools to collect the appropriate amount of material. Performing the test involves drawing a small amount of blood from a finger or vein into an attached tube and sending the material to a specific laboratory. The patient can also go to a nearby collection point that collects venous blood for the patient's kit. After collecting the blood, you must immediately report the availability to send the material by phone or e-mail. The courier will pick up the package and deliver it to the laboratory. The test result and interpretation are sent electronically in approximately 7 business days.
