Faringosept 10 mg lozenges is an antiseptic medicine and belongs to the group of medicines for the oropharyngeal area. Faringosept 10 mg is used in adults, adolescents and children over 14 years of age as an adjuvant in acute infections with an entrance gate or localization at the level of the oral cavity and pharynx: gingivitis, pharyngitis, tonsillitis and after tonsillectomy (surgical removal of the tonsils).

Therapeutic action:

Acute antiseptic against Streptococcus pyogenes, S. pneumoniae, S. viridans and other pathogenic germs of the oral cavity.

Indications:

Prophylaxis and treatment of oropharyngeal infections: angina, gingivitis, stomatitis; after tonsillectomy and tooth extractions.

Administration method:

Adults : 1 tablet each (for sucking), 4-6 times/day

Children and adolescents aged between 14-18 years is 1 tablet 3 times a day (30 mg ambazona), for 3-4 days.

• Due to the lack of sufficient information regarding safety in administration, Faringosept 10 mg is not recommended for children under 14 years of age.
• Faringosept 10 mg tablets are not swallowed, but are allowed to dissolve slowly in the oral cavity.
• Faringosept 10 mg is administered immediately after meals (15-30 minutes);
• it is recommended to avoid the consumption of food or liquids for 2-3 hours after administration.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• If the symptoms persist, contact your doctor immediately.

Side effects:

• Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
• Mild irritation of the oral mucosa (in case of too frequent administration).
• Hypersensitivity reactions have been reported, including swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing, hives, itching, flushing, and/or rashes all over the body.
• Discoloration of saliva has also been reported with the use of ambazone.
