Black cumin ( Nigella sativa ) is a prized oil-producing herb. Its seeds produce oil rich in omega 6-9 unsaturated fatty acids, including linoleic acid and oleic acid.

Linoleic acid (LA) helps maintain normal blood cholesterol levels. The beneficial effect of linoleic acid occurs when 10 g of LA is consumed per day.
