Colebil contains a combination of substances used as substitute medication in gallbladder therapy (which compensates for bile deficiency).

Colebil is indicated for adults and children over 7 years of age as an adjunctive treatment in dyspeptic disorders attributed to bile deficiency in the intestine, as well as in chronic constipation.

Composition:

• The active substances are bovine bile, methenamine, sodium salicylate
• One tablet contains bovine bile 100 mg, methenamine 50 mg, sodium salicylate 90 mg
• The other components are: core-light magnesium carbonate, heavy magnesium carbonate, sugar, talc, peppermint oil;coating layer - povidone K25, talc, sugar, titanium dioxide (E 171), corn starch, gelatin, calcium carbonate, micronized carnauba wax.

How to use:

• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
• Adults: 1-3 tablets 2-3 times a day
• Children over 7 years: 1 tablet 2-3 times a day
• It is administered orally after main meals
• The usual duration of a treatment course is 2-3 weeks.

Contraindications:

Do not use Colebil:

• if you are allergic to bovine bile, methenamine, sodium salicylate or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
• if you have obstructive jaundice (yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes)
• if you suffer from gastric or duodenal ulcer
• if you have liver failure, you have been diagnosed with inflammation of the bile ducts or other severe liver conditions.

Precautions:

Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if:

• you have gallstones (the presence or formation of stones in the bile ducts)
• use medicines containing bile acids and bile salts (found in cattle bile), as they can cause diarrhea
• use for a long period of time, because the long-term administration of large doses of bile salts can cause a decrease in the resistance of the eso-gastro-duodenal mucosa and damage to the biliary epithelium
• suffer from inflammatory conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, gastric and duodenal ulcer, bronchial asthma, you must seek the advice of a doctor before using the medicine
• children are younger than 12 years old and with febrile syndrome, because salicylates must be administered on the doctor's recommendation due to the risk of Reye's syndrome.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine
• There are no clinical data available for COLEBIL regarding the use in pregnant women. The medicine will be prescribed with caution during pregnancy
• Salicylates are excreted in milk.Therefore, administration during breastfeeding is not recommended.

Driving vehicles and using machines:

• COLEBIL does not influence the ability to drive vehicles and use machines.
