Citicoline (cytidyl-5'-diphosphocholine), also known as CDP choline, is an endogenous compound produced by the body. It occurs naturally in nervous tissue, where it has neuroprotective functions. Citicoline is also a precursor of phosphatidylcholine - the basic building block of phospholipids in cell membranes, as well as of one of the body's most important neurotransmitters - acetylcholine. For this reason, CDP choline is an important element of a properly functioning nervous system. Citicoline is also a source of bioavailable cytidine, which is then converted to uridine and in this form works synergistically with choline.
The preparation does not contain ingredients of animal origin, which makes it suitable for vegans. The product does not contain artificial technological additives, preservatives or colorings.
