Betaine, or trimethylglycine, was first discovered in sugar beets, and its name comes from the Latin name ( Beta Vulgaris ). It is an organic chemical compound that belongs to the large group of betaines. The beneficial effect occurs when 1.5 g of betaine is consumed per day. Wheat germ is also a source of betaine.

TMG is a derivative of glycine - the simplest protein amino acid, one of the 20 standard protein amino acids. Its form is a white, crystalline powder with a melting point of about 240oC, non-toxic even in high concentrations, perfectly soluble in water, and in the stomach it resembles the action of hydrochloric acid (HCL).

Hydrochloric acid (HCL) in the stomach is produced naturally and used to digest food as long as the stomach is working properly.

Hydrochloric acid is one of the most important factors that determine how much our body absorbs nutrients from the food we eat every day.
